Wild Take

‘Time to Climb’

Co-host and falconer Anya, preparing to climb up to a sparrowhawk nest, under government licence, in 2016.

In 2016 my wife Anya and I applied for a government-issued licence to take a sparrowhawk chick from the nest for the purpose of training it as a hunting hawk in falconry.

I decided to document the adventure and we produced a nine-part podcast called ‘Wild Take’. Did we end up with a hawk at the end of it? You’ll have to listen to find out.

The nine episodes have now had over 5000 combined listens. Find them in your podcast app or on Soundcloud.
